About the position

Our Research Scientists are our Inventors. We identify and target steps in disease mechanisms or pathways that could be inhibited or enhanced. Our goal is to isolate a compound that is effective against a disease target. Using innovative thinking, state-of-the-art facilities, and robust scientific methodology we collaborate to discover the next medical breakthrough. The Cell Pharmacology group in Department of Quantitative Biosciences is seeking a highly motivated Scientist with a background in cell-based assays, automation and data deconstruction to join our company's Research Laboratories in Boston. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate is to integrate with screening logistics, facilitate ROP execution and be part of 360 analyses of the data with software tools. This integrated approach will improve workflow logistics, assay execution, data analyses and visualization with efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Interface compound workflow logistics and automation for weekly screening with knowledge in MOSAIC and writing protocols for Echo, Bravo, Hamilton and other automation instruments.
  • Assay execution with engineered and primary cells for screening.
  • Evaluate the pharmacology of novel small molecules, antibodies, and other modalities for therapeutic potential in immunology and oncology with fit-for-purpose automation in smoothening the workflow.
  • Data analyses, curve fit and extended pharmacological assessment with Graphpad Prism, Excel and Spotfire.
  • Manage large data sets in conjunction with in-house data base.
  • Work across the organization to harmonize and innovate lab automation and data computing.
  • Function and communicate effectively in a highly productive and multi-disciplinary environment.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. degree with a minimum 3 years of hands-on experience; or a M.S. degree with a minimum 1 year of hands-on experience.
  • Candidate should be a strong team player with wet lab and data analytics experience.
  • Fundamental cell biology, protein, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Knowledge of programming and maintenance of lab automation and plate readers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of MATLAB, R or Python and SQL is desirable.
  • Tibco Spotfire (dashboard, visualization & report development) with solid foundation in data management and data governance.
  • Experience in developing business relevant analyses and reports.
