About the position

As a Scientist in Data Science at Johnson & Johnson, you will be an integral part of the R&D Data Science Analytics & Insights team, focusing on the development and implementation of artificial intelligence solutions to address high-priority scientific challenges across various disease areas. Your role will involve leveraging machine learning and AI to enhance global development processes, ensuring that innovative solutions are effectively integrated into clinical trials and research initiatives. You will engage in cross-functional collaborations, working closely with both external partners and internal teams to drive scientific innovation through data-driven insights. Your responsibilities will include conducting machine learning modeling for site selection in clinical trials, particularly in fields such as dermatology, oncology, and infectious diseases. You will be tasked with predicting sites that have a high potential for patient recruitment, thereby influencing critical decision-making processes. Additionally, you will contribute to patient modeling and enrollment simulations, providing accurate projections for enrollment completion. Your ability to adapt and deliver real-world data insights will be crucial in shaping internal and external collaborations, as well as defining the scope of research questions. In this role, you will closely partner with the Data Science Portfolio Management and Therapeutic Area teams to execute project priorities, developing a roadmap that guides projects from data feasibility to final presentations for senior cross-functional leaders. A key aspect of your position will be to clearly articulate complex technical methods and results to diverse audiences, facilitating informed decision-making. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior team members, sharing your expertise in the application of appropriate methods for real-world data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conceive, develop, and implement artificial intelligence solutions to high-priority scientific problems.
  • Develop machine learning and AI solutions to accelerate global development.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaborations with external companies and internal teams.
  • Conduct site selection machine learning modeling for clinical trial feasibility.
  • Shape internal/external collaborations and define the scope of research questions.
  • Contribute to patient modeling and enrollment simulations for accurate projections.
  • Implement use-cases adapting and delivering real-world data insights.
  • Partner with Data Science Portfolio Management and Therapeutic Area teams to execute project priorities.

  • Mentor junior team members in the application of appropriate methods.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Molecular Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Biomedical Informatics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
