About the position

L3Harris is seeking a Scientist in Electrical Engineering to provide expert-level technical support for electrical and hardware systems within the Navigation Solutions business. The role involves leading and managing complex projects related to military GPS and Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) technology, ensuring high-quality engineering practices, and fostering collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall hands-on technical expertise in Electrical and Hardware Engineering for NS programs.
  • Act as an external and internal expert and thought leader in Electrical RF hardware designs.
  • Ensure cohesive teamwork and trust within the Hardware Engineering Organization.
  • Communicate effectively to explain and gain cooperation on policies and practices.
  • Make substantial improvements to processes, systems, and solutions.
  • Plan and establish goals and objectives for Electrical and Hardware Engineering with direct impact on operational results.
  • Lead, direct, coach, and review the work of Electrical and Hardware Engineering personnel.
  • Manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization.
  • Maintain outstanding communication with higher management and employees.
  • Collaborate with other business areas to execute programs and business development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience, or a Graduate degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in hands-on Electrical Engineering Design, Development, and Build for RF analog and digital hardware systems.
  • 15+ years of analog RF hardware electrical engineering experience with L-band RF systems and RF receiver design.
  • 15+ years of design and development of high frequency, RF circuitry, and high bandwidth A2D networks.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading/managing/tracking projects, proposals, processes, and employees.
  • 10+ years of experience demonstrating strong verbal and written skills for both internal teams and customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • 20+ years of experience in hands-on Electrical Engineering Development for RF analog and digital hardware systems.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) to all levels of personnel.
  • Experience and understanding in the technical details of GPS, MGNSS, and other PNT technology.
  • Expert in High Frequency and RF circuitry to 2GHz on miniature board design.
  • Expert using Altium Design Studio or Mentor Graphics.
