About the position

The Data Management Scientist I in Computational Biology is responsible for overseeing data management activities and ensuring high-quality support for the development of novel biomarkers and oncology companion diagnostics. This role involves integrating data from various sources, maintaining data quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support research and development studies.

Responsibilities

• Provide data management support for research and development studies.
• Perform queries on databases using SQL or other tools.
• Mitigate potential data management issues by reviewing protocols for cross-project consistency.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including merging and reformatting datasets.
• Ensure data quality by identifying errors and inconsistencies and resolving them with appropriate personnel.
• Perform data integration and transformation, delivering data tables based on specifications.
• Manage current and historical data/results to build a knowledge base and ensure completeness and searchability.
• Ensure all datasets, programs, and documentation are stored appropriately for easy reference.
• Maintain oversight on data quality metrics and deliverables.
• Perform ad-hoc data management and analysis tasks.
• Collaborate with laboratory scientists, biostatisticians, technologists, and regulatory affairs teams on study design and data analysis.

Requirements

• Master's degree in bioinformatics, computer science, biostatistics, information systems, or a related field.
• Proficiency in one or several computing software for data programming.

Nice-to-haves

• Fluency in programming languages such as Python or R.
• 2+ years of relevant working experience in a programming role supporting clinical trial studies or biomarker studies in the biopharmaceutical/diagnostics/CRO industry.
• Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
• Scientific understanding of cancer genetics and genomics.
• Demonstrated history of independent thinking and meeting project deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration and problem-solving.
