About the position

The Scientist - III position at Talent Software Services is a contract role based in Cambridge, MA, focused on laboratory automation within the Data, AI, and Genome Sciences group. The role emphasizes the operation of automated systems and instrumentation to support the discovery and interrogation of medicines, with a strong potential for long-term extension beyond the initial one-year contract.

Responsibilities

  • Operate automated systems and associated instrumentation.
  • Support parallel projects and multi-task daily.
  • Design experiments, interpret and track results for automated workflow development and optimization.
  • Follow established protocols and validate new protocols with attention to detail.
  • Prepare automated systems and instrumentation for executing automated workflows.
  • Monitor and execute automation systems, including system and instrument level error recovery.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in engineering or Life Sciences with a minimum of 4 years of experience in laboratory automation, or a bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering or life sciences with 2 years of experience in laboratory automation.
  • Experience with automated liquid handlers, detectors, and robots.
  • Experience with automated wet lab assay execution, assay validation, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LabView, and introductory Python skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with liquid handlers and robotic arms, including instruments like Biomek, Combi, BlueWasher, Cytomat, Precise, Staubli, WDII, Pherastar, Echo, Hamilton.
