About the position

The Cloud Software Architect at L3Harris will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cloud architectures that meet system requirements for telecommunications networks and information management systems. This role involves working closely with internal and external customers, leading software teams, and ensuring the delivery of secure and reliable cloud-based solutions. The position requires a strong understanding of software development best practices and experience in deploying cloud-ready applications.

Responsibilities

  • Support Business Development team by writing white papers and performing trade studies.
  • Interface with customers to understand use cases and define requirements for cloud solutions.
  • Design large-scale distributed systems using microservices and containers.
  • Create and maintain virtualized, containerized, and/or cloud-ready environments for software teams.
  • Work with security teams to define and implement security controls.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on Cloud, Microservices, IaC, and DevSecOps topics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or 16 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years leading software teams to deliver enterprise solutions implementing RESTful Web Services, Microservices, and/or Cloud components (AWS preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience leveraging Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to host cloud-based solutions.
  • 3+ years designing scalable infrastructure and automated deployment in cloud environments using tools like Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust or Top Secret clearance.
  • AWS Solutions Architect and AWS Sys Ops certification(s).
  • Kubernetes Administrator certification(s).
  • Experience using scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Experience with IaC tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible.
  • Experience with iterative software development processes (Agile, SCRUM, Kanban).
