About the position
The Scientist position at Aret involves utilizing innovative solutions to address complex security challenges. The role focuses on ocean remote sensing, signal/image processing, computer vision, machine learning, and physics-based modeling. The successful candidate will develop software and algorithms for data analysis and engage in sensor design and analysis, detection, estimation, tracking algorithms, and target classification. This is a full-time, exempt, non-supervisory role based in Northridge, CA.
Responsibilities
- Develop physics-based software and algorithms for data analysis.
- Work on sensor design and analysis.
- Engage in phenomenology exploitation.
- Implement detection, estimation, and tracking algorithms.
- Conduct target classification and identification.
Requirements
- Completed or in final year of a BS or MS degree in physics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming in Python, MATLAB, C, C++, or similar languages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Remote sensing experience in Electro-Optics, Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR), LIDAR, or sonar.
- Experience with signal/image processing (detection, estimation, and tracking).
- Knowledge in computer vision, image and data fusion, image classification, and automated target recognition.
- Experience in physics-based modeling and simulation.
- Familiarity with spectroscopy, data fusion, data analytics, or algorithm development.
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning.
