About the position

The Scientist position at Thermo Fisher Scientific involves conducting complex analyses and sample preparations to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds. The role requires a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures and the ability to work independently while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards. The position is integral to improving patient health through accurate and quality laboratory services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex sample preparation and analysis procedures for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds.
  • Follow validated or experimental analytical procedures with periodic supervision.
  • Review and compile results and compare data against SOP acceptance criteria and product specifications.
  • Enter data into databases and perform self-review prior to QC submission.
  • Set up and maintain analytical instrumentation and train team members on its operation and maintenance.
  • Communicate project status to project leaders and ensure QA findings are addressed appropriately.
  • Perform self and peer review of data for accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in an analytical lab setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HPLC and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Proven ability to interpret data and perform trend analysis.
  • Strong technical writing skills and ability to optimize analytical methods independently.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, along with time and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Familiarity with regulatory procedures and guidelines.
