About the position

As a Scrum Master at MetroStar Systems, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the development team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the software development lifecycle. You will guide and implement Scrum practices to enhance the team's productivity and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products. This position requires a highly skilled and versatile professional who can adapt to the dynamic needs of the organization and its projects. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements. You will conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and other requirement-gathering techniques to elicit necessary information. Your ability to translate business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications will be essential. You will also validate requirements to ensure they align with business objectives. As a Scrum Master, you will facilitate Scrum events, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. You will coach and mentor the team on Agile principles, practices, and values, fostering an environment of continuous improvement. Tracking and reporting team progress and metrics to stakeholders will be part of your responsibilities, as well as acting as a liaison between the business stakeholders and the development team. You will assist in project planning, resource allocation, and risk management, ensuring that project milestones and deliverables are met in a timely manner. Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical paths, as well as mitigating risks and issues that may impact project success, will also be key aspects of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and other requirement gathering techniques to elicit necessary information.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Validate requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile development teams.
  • Facilitate Scrum events, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coach and mentor the team on Agile principles, practices, and values.
  • Remove impediments and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Track and report team progress and metrics to stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between the business stakeholders and the development team.
  • Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project success.

Requirements

  • Active TS//SCI clearance with CI poly
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst for software development projects.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master for software development projects.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies, particularly Scrum.
  • Solid knowledge of business analysis techniques and tools.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM).
  • Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., GitLab, Jira, Confluence).
