About the position

The Scrum Master/Agile Project Manager at Deckers Brands plays a crucial role in facilitating agile practices and methodologies within product teams. This position focuses on coaching, mentoring, and educating teams on agile principles while ensuring effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders. The Scrum Master is responsible for enhancing team efficiencies, resolving conflicts, and supporting the Product Owner in managing the product backlog to deliver optimal value. This role emphasizes continuous improvement and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an agile coach, mentor, educator, and facilitator for product teams and business stakeholders.
  • Establish and promote agile principles, values, and methodologies.
  • Manage cross-functional teams to deliver value and meet business goals.
  • Partner with the Product Owner to communicate and collaborate with key product team members and stakeholders on product backlogs.
  • Remove impediments and obstacles that hinder team effectiveness.
  • Monitor and report on team KPIs to improve efficiencies and health for optimal value delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative environment to establish trust and encourage open communication and feedback.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Lean, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and facilitating teams through ambiguity to deliver value.
  • Driven to continuous improvement.
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools, JIRA, Confluence, and visual diagramming tools (Lucid/Miro).
  • 5+ years in Agile Methodologies and frameworks such as Lean, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • 5+ years as a certified Scrum Master and/or Agile Coach.
  • 2+ years in Project Management experience.
  • 2+ years in a Technology organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a technology organization.
  • Additional certifications in Agile methodologies.
