About the position

The Scrum Master/Agilist at U.S. Bank plays a crucial role in fostering an Agile mindset within product teams, ensuring that all product vision, planning, and development activities align with Agile principles. This individual contributor position focuses on medium complexity product features, driving culture change and continuous improvement while keeping teams aligned with product goals through Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve product teams by ensuring all activities are rooted in Agile and Product Values & Principles.
  • Enable the organization to experiment and evolve business strategy based on outcomes and feedback.
  • Drive culture change through daily work focused on Agile & Product mindset and continuous improvement.
  • Keep the team focused on achieving product goals using Agile methods.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Demonstrated growth and curiosity mindset.
  • Ability to explain the Agile mindset and its connection to Agile Principles.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, conflict resolution, and time management skills.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master managing multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Positive attitude and ability to inspire the team toward continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and rapidly iterate to a solution.
  • Working knowledge of the system development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Understanding of iterative and incremental development fundamentals.
  • Experience coaching and working with teams, product managers, and engineering leaders.

Nice-to-haves

  • CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or PSM (Professional Scrum Master) certification.
  • Experience with co-located and distributed teams in multiple time zones.
  • Creative, flexible, and willing to continuously change and improve processes.
