About the position

Davidson Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Scrum Master to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. This position plays a crucial role in a dynamic and innovative program focused on developing software for the Sentinel program. The Scrum Master will work closely with a cross-functional team of skilled professionals in Software Engineering and System Engineering, fostering an environment that encourages experimentation with innovative theories, ideas, and concepts. The ideal candidate will be adept at self-organizing and participating in an agile development lifecycle, asking questions, and building consensus within the team. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the effective application of Agile principles and practices to meet our customers' evolving mission needs. As a servant leader, you will help the team work effectively to deliver maximum value. Your responsibilities will include actively facilitating team ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Review, and Retrospective, as well as supporting backlog refinement activities to ensure relevant objectives are achieved. You will enhance sprint productivity and empower the team to self-organize, taking collective responsibility for delivering high-quality products that delight our customers. Additionally, you will facilitate planning program increments, support the team in identifying and removing impediments, and drive sustainable continuous improvement by collating and deriving insights from data. Your role will also involve assisting with internal and external communication to improve transparency and make information visible. You will support teams or individuals in improving performance and achieving goals through coaching and mentoring, while collaborating with other Scrum Masters and Product Owners to ensure alignment and best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate team ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Review, and Retrospective.
  • Support backlog refinement activities to achieve relevant objectives.
  • Enhance sprint productivity and empower the team to self-organize.
  • Facilitate planning program increments and support the team in identifying and removing impediments.
  • Drive sustainable continuous improvement by collating and deriving insights from data.
  • Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency and visibility of information.
  • Support teams or individuals in improving performance and achieving goals through coaching and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Product Owners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an Agile environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Agile principles, practices, and methods, particularly Scrum.
  • Practical experience of servant-leadership in Agile teams.
  • Excellent organizational and facilitation skills.
  • Self-starting mentality and willingness to take ownership of difficult challenges.
  • Desire to drive change and create innovative solutions.
  • Experience with modern agile project management tools (Jira, Gitlab or similar).

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in software development or software development management.
  • Knowledge of system engineering principles.
  • Experience with operational weapon software systems.
  • PMI-ACP Certification or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • SAFe certification: SAFe Scrum Master or SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE).
