The Senior Scrum Master plays a crucial role in driving the agile development process and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. As a servant leader, the Senior Scrum Master fosters a culture of collaboration, effective communication, and continuous improvement within the Scrum team. They serve as a mentor, guiding the team in the adoption and execution of Agile principles and practices. This role requires a seasoned Scrum Master who can inspire teams to reach their highest potential, drive project success, and contribute to a culture of continuous growth and improvement. Key responsibilities include facilitating all Scrum ceremonies, maintaining a dependency plan between planned sprints, acting as a liaison to minimize interruptions, identifying and addressing impediments, providing expert guidance on Agile methodologies, and fostering clear communication between the development team and Product Owner. The Senior Scrum Master will also monitor Agile metrics, cultivate a culture of continuous learning, proactively identify risks, and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive team environment. The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, showing adaptability and resilience in the face of change.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Demos, and Retrospectives.
  • Maintain dependency plan between planned sprints across development, infrastructure, and third parties.
  • Act as a liaison between the team and everyone else to minimize interruptions to the sprint.
  • Identify and swiftly address impediments and obstacles that may hinder the team's progress.
  • Provide expert guidance and coaching to the Scrum team on Agile methodologies and best practices.
  • Foster clear and consistent communication between the development team and Product Owner.
  • Help the Product Owner manage customer expectations and stakeholder communications.
  • Deliver timely and transparent updates on Sprint and project progress.
  • Monitor and analyze key Agile metrics, such as velocity and burn-down charts.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues that could impact project timelines or quality.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive and productive team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline preferred.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 7+ years' experience as a Scrum Master.
  • 4+ years working on cross-functional teams to produce technology products required.
  • 2+ years' experience structuring teamwork in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Experience interpreting quantitative data to address business problems.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices.
  • Expert experience in Tools Like Jira and Leankit.

Nice-to-haves

  • Scrum certification (Scrum Alliance or similar professional certification) preferred.
  • Experience in coordinating multiple teams and managing dependencies in a large-scale Agile environment.
