About the position

As a Scrum Master for the Core API Platforms at Marriott, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the travel experience for guests and associates alike. This position is centered around the GraphQL API platform team, where you will be responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget while adhering to Marriott's high standards of excellence. Your daily responsibilities will include coordinating tasks and removing obstacles related to technology projects at an enterprise level, ensuring that progress is seamless and timely. You will manage development sprints from planning through execution to review in an agile development environment, facilitating daily scrums, collaborating on requirement documentation, and ensuring the team remains focused and productive. Responsibilities

• Deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting Marriott's expectations.
• Coordinate tasks and unblock barriers related to technology projects at an enterprise level.
• Manage development sprints from planning to execution to review in an agile environment.
• Run daily scrums and collaborate on requirement documentation.
• Engage with key stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback.
• Coach and collaborate with cross-functional teams and Product Owners.
• Foster decision-making and continuous improvement within the team.
• Facilitate all scrum events including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Refinement, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
• Identify and resolve impediments using a network of peers or escalation if needed.
• Partner with Product Managers to maintain plans and communicate progress.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree, equivalent experience, or certification.
• 7+ years' experience in applying Agile and Scrum principles within teams and/or organizations.
• 7+ years planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teams.
• 7+ years experience working within agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) and applying techniques such as story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection.
• 5+ years creating and delivering presentations, PowerPoint decks, and project plans.
• 2+ years working with tools such as Atlassian (JIRA/Confluence), Clarity, and/or Cloud-based platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

Nice-to-haves

• Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or PMI's Agile Certified Professional (ACP).
• SAFe certified - SAFe Agilist or SAFe Scrum Master.
• Servant leadership experience as Scrum Master on an Agile Release Train.
• Familiarity with product/project development experience on Agile Teams in a technology-focused organization.
• Ability to align change management strategies with product development/deployments.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization.
• Ability to understand and represent both the business and technology.
