About the position

The Scrum Master position is a critical role within our organization, focusing on facilitating Agile practices and ensuring the successful delivery of projects in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) with a strong technical background, particularly in financial, retirement, or investment sectors. This role requires a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to navigate complex delivery interdependencies effectively. The Scrum Master will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive project success, ensuring that all team members are aligned and that the Agile principles are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle. In this position, you will be responsible for coaching teams on Agile practices, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, and removing any impediments that may hinder the team's progress. You will also play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to share feedback and collaborate effectively. Your problem-solving skills will be essential in addressing challenges that arise during the project, and your ability to communicate clearly and document processes will help maintain transparency and accountability within the team. The Scrum Master will utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint to manage project workflows and documentation. Your experience in a large software delivery environment will be invaluable as you guide teams through the complexities of project delivery, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process. This role is not just about managing the Scrum process; it’s about being a servant leader who empowers teams to achieve their best work.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
  • Coach and mentor team members on Agile principles and practices.
  • Remove impediments that hinder the team's progress.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Utilize project management tools such as Jira and Confluence to track progress and document processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Work closely with product owners to ensure the backlog is well-defined and prioritized.

Requirements

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is required.
  • Strong technical background, preferably in financial, retirement, or investment sectors.
  • Proven experience in a large software delivery environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to drive through multiple delivery interdependencies.
  • Proficient in using Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint for project management and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile methodologies beyond Scrum, such as Kanban or Lean.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycles and project management best practices.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment.
