About the position

ENSCO Inc. is seeking a Scrum Master to lead the Nation's premier gateway to space for National Security, Civil and Commercial payloads into the future. In this hybrid role, the successful candidate will work closely with the Launch and Test Range System (LTRS) team to provide the planning, integration, and execution of a variety of project deliverables. The Scrum Master will be responsible for translating system requirements into the design and development of customized systems in an agile environment, ensuring that assured access to space is maintained. This position requires a proactive approach to transforming vital business needs into secure architectures and driving innovation within the team. The Scrum Master will facilitate Scrum events, organize and lead Scrum ceremonies, and coach the team in Scrum practices while aiding them in understanding Agile principles to improve overall performance. A key responsibility will be to identify and remove obstacles that block the team's progress, promoting collaboration among team members and stakeholders. The Scrum Master will also support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog, refining user stories, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. Ensuring process compliance is crucial, as the Scrum Master will help the team adhere to Scrum rules and practices while continually seeking improvements in processes. Monitoring team progress is another essential duty, as the Scrum Master will track performance metrics to help the team understand their progress and identify areas for improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Agile practices and the Scrum framework, along with strong problem-solving skills to analyze issues and develop effective solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to facilitate Scrum events and report findings to stakeholders at all levels. The Scrum Master will also need to work effectively with diverse teams, including external partners, to meet program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Scrum Events: Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies.
  • Coach the Team: Coach the team in Scrum practices and aid them in the understanding of Agile principles to help improve overall performance.
  • Remove Impediments: Identify and remove obstacles that block the team's progress.
  • Promote Collaboration: Encourage collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Support the Product Owner: Help the Product Owner manage the product backlog, refine user stories, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Ensure Process Compliance: Ensure the team adheres to Scrum rules and practices while continually improving processes.
  • Monitor Progress: Track team progress to help them understand their performance as well as determine improvements that need to be made.

Requirements

  • BS degree in engineering or related field with 5 years of experience or 9+ years of DoD program management experience in lieu of BS degree.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
  • Ability to gather, evaluate, and interpret complex data to make informed decisions and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop effective solutions to improve program performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively facilitate Scrum events and report findings to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in working with diverse teams, including external partners, to meet program goals.
  • Deep understanding of Agile Practices.
  • Knowledge of Scrum Framework.
  • Skilled at resolving conflicts and guiding discussions towards productive outcomes.
  • Ability to understand team dynamics and foster a supportive and productive environment.
  • Familiarity with software development processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Experience testing complex software systems.
  • Ability to contribute to long-term planning for the program.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

  • Experience using project management tools such as Team Share, JIRA, and Confluence.
