About the position

The Scrum Master II is a leadership role focused on guiding Agile teams in the Scrum and Kanban frameworks. This position emphasizes the development of mature Agile teams through continuous improvement and effective facilitation of Agile events. The Scrum Master collaborates closely with the Product Owner and Business System Analyst to ensure clear communication and documentation of product backlog items, while also driving team dynamics and maturity.

Responsibilities

• Act as a leader and facilitator of Agile events and team dynamics.
• Utilize Agile practices to formulate self-organizing and collaborative teams.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
• Develop and maintain a clear product backlog in partnership with the Product Owner.
• Drive continuous improvement within the team with a focus on Agile principles.
• Collaborate with the Agile team to document business value through clear, testable stories.
• Elicit feedback to identify and resolve impediments and monitor team progress.
• Communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders to deliver within sprint timeframes.
• Grow knowledge in Agile practices and techniques.
• Take ownership of the effectiveness of the Agile team and champion necessary changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
• 4-6 years of hands-on experience on an Agile team, preferably as a Scrum Master.
• Experience in systems or financial services environments.
• Proficiency in Agile tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or RALLY.
• Technical knowledge of software development terminology, including APIs.

Nice-to-haves
