About the position

The Scrum Master II is a leadership role focused on guiding Agile teams in the Scrum and Kanban frameworks. The position emphasizes the importance of facilitating Agile events, fostering team dynamics, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The Scrum Master will work closely with the Product Owner and Business System Analyst to ensure a well-defined product backlog and drive the team's maturity in Agile practices.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a leader and facilitator of Agile events and team dynamics.
  • Utilize Agile practices to formulate self-organizing and collaborative teams.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
  • Develop and maintain a clear product backlog in partnership with the Product Owner and Business System Analyst.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the team focusing on Agile principles.
  • Collaborate with the Agile team to document business value through clear, testable stories.
  • Elicit feedback from the team to identify and resolve impediments and monitor progress.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery within sprint timeframes.
  • Grow knowledge in Agile practices such as refinement, story splitting, and conflict resolution.
  • Take ownership of the Agile team's effectiveness and maturity in practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience on an Agile team, preferably in the Scrum Master role.
  • Experience in systems or financial services environment, such as card payments or banking.
  • Experience with Agile tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, or RALLY.
  • Technical knowledge of software development terminology, such as APIs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Agile Certification preferred but work experience is considered.
  • Experience managing large scale technology projects.
