As a Scrum Master II at Marriott International, you will play a pivotal role in managing the development sprints from planning through execution and review within an agile development environment. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate daily scrums, collaborate on requirement documentation, and remove any barriers that may hinder the team's progress. You will coach and collaborate with cross-functional teams, Product Owners, and other Scrum Masters to foster effective decision-making and continuous improvement. This position requires strong leadership abilities to guide the development of agile capabilities within the Global Technology organization and across Marriott's diverse portfolio of products. You will be expected to have an expert-level understanding of SAFe Agile Scrum principles and practices, as well as an awareness of the unique opportunities and challenges that come with aligning teams with the overarching business strategy. This role specifically supports one or more of the Technology Workplace Products agile teams. In this position, you will facilitate and support all scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. You will ensure that Scrum is understood and that the team adheres to Scrum theory, practices, and guidelines. Additionally, you will contribute to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization, working closely with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to enhance your role. As a servant leader of the Agile Team, you will direct the initiative delivery team and partner with Product Managers to maintain plans and communicate the team's progress, including product roadmaps, scrum team metrics, and program/project status reporting. Your role will also involve guiding and coaching the Scrum Team on how to effectively use Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services to customers. You will be responsible for resolving team impediments and optimizing team performance by recognizing areas of strength and improvement. Collaboration with key stakeholders will be essential to validate the effectiveness of standard processes and continuously improve process quality. Overall, your contributions will be vital in ensuring that the Agile teams are aligned with Marriott's strategic goals and are equipped to deliver exceptional results.
