The position of Scrum Master at Marriott International involves effectively managing the development sprints from planning through execution to review within an agile development environment. The Scrum Master will run daily scrums, collaborate on requirement documentation, and unblock barriers to ensure the team remains productive. This role requires strong leadership abilities to guide the development of agile capabilities within the Global Technology organization and across Marriott's extensive portfolio of products. The Scrum Master will specifically support Infrastructure and Cloud Delivery and will have a dual reporting relationship with the Infrastructure Cloud Delivery (ICD) and the Agile Center of Excellence (COE). In this role, the Scrum Master will support one or more software delivery teams using Scrum or Kanban methodologies. They will facilitate all scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Refinement, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. The Scrum Master is responsible for ensuring that Scrum is understood and that the team adheres to Scrum theory, practices, and guidelines. They will contribute to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization and work closely with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within their role. As a servant leader, the Scrum Master will direct the initiative delivery team and partner with Product Managers to maintain plans and communicate the team's progress, including product roadmaps and scrum team metrics. The Scrum Master will also guide and coach the Scrum Team on how to effectively use Lean and Agile practices to deliver high-quality products and services. They will resolve team impediments and work with product owners to manage backlogs and new requests. The role requires optimizing team performance by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching techniques. The Scrum Master will support the development of behavioral change management, communications, and training as needed to drive process and tool adoption, implementation, and compliance. Collaboration with key stakeholder groups is essential to validate the effectiveness of standard processes and continuously improve process quality.
