About the position

The Scrum Master III role at Beacon Hill Staffing Group involves guiding and coaching teams in Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum practices. The position focuses on facilitating Agile ceremonies, supporting the Product Owner and Development Team, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team. The Scrum Master will also manage project budgets, risks, and dependencies while ensuring timely project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach teams on Agile/Scrum practices and values.
  • Support the Product Owner and Development Team, leading by example.
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies efficiently to maximize their value.
  • Encourage self-organization within delivery teams to achieve objectives.
  • Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Work with management and team members to clarify needs and plan product deliveries.
  • Manage and report on budget, ensuring teams deliver within allocated funding.
  • Proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Assist in facilitating effective sprints by removing impediments and ensuring stories are 'sprint ready'.
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Review current Agile processes and guide teams to improve while fostering innovation.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability among team members.
  • Enhance personal skills to contribute to business growth.
  • Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency.

Requirements

  • CSM or equivalent certification.
  • Clear understanding of Agile methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate scrum teams.
  • Knowledge of facilitation techniques, servant leadership, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience with Agile PLM tools like JIRA.
  • Understanding of backlog tracking and Scrum/Kanban metrics.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in sprint & release planning, running demos, and retrospectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional experience in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor's in computer science, management information systems, or related disciplines.
  • 4-6 years of experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Experience on multiple Scrum teams in various contexts.
  • Track record of continued education in Scrum, including training and conferences.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches like XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD.
  • Experience with Agile techniques like ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing.
