About the position

The Scrum Master III position at Beacon Hill Staffing Group involves guiding and coaching teams in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum practices. The role focuses on facilitating Agile ceremonies, supporting the Product Owner and Development Team, and ensuring effective sprint execution. The Scrum Master will also manage budgets, proactively address risks, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach teams and the organization on Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Support the Product Owner and Development Team, leading by example.
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies to help teams realize their value.
  • Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage and report on budget, ensuring teams deliver within allocated funding.
  • Proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Work with teams to facilitate effective sprints by removing impediments.
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Review current agile processes and guide teams to improve them.
  • Foster an empowering environment focused on accountability and collaboration.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency.

Requirements

  • CSM or equivalent certification.
  • Clear understanding of Agile methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate scrum teams.
  • Knowledge of facilitation techniques and servant leadership.
  • Experience with Agile PLM tools like JIRA.
  • Understanding of backlog tracking and Scrum/Kanban metrics.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in sprint & release planning, running demos and retrospectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional experience in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor's in computer science, management information systems, or related disciplines.
  • 4-6 years of experience with agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Experience on multiple Scrum teams in diverse contexts.
  • Track record of continued education in Scrum.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches like XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD.
  • Experience with Agile techniques like ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration.
