About the position

The Scrum Master III position at Beacon Hill Staffing Group involves guiding and coaching teams in Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum practices. The role focuses on facilitating Agile ceremonies, supporting the Product Owner and Development Team, and ensuring effective delivery of projects on time and within budget. The Scrum Master will foster a culture of continuous improvement and empower team members while managing risks and dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Guide and coach teams and the organization on Agile/Scrum practices.
• Support the Product Owner and Development Team, leading by example.
• Facilitate all Agile ceremonies efficiently to maximize their value.
• Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
• Work with management and team members to clarify needs and plan product changes.
• Manage and report on budget to ensure teams deliver within allocated funding.
• Proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
• Facilitate effective sprints by removing impediments and ensuring stories are 'sprint ready'.
• Deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Review current Agile processes and guide the team to improve and innovate.
• Foster an environment that empowers and energizes team members.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency.

Requirements

• CSM or equivalent certification.
• Clear understanding of Agile methodologies, values, and procedures.
• Strong leadership skills to motivate scrum teams.
• Knowledge of facilitation techniques, servant leadership, and conflict resolution.
• Experience with Agile PLM tools like JIRA.
• Understanding of backlog tracking and Scrum/Kanban metrics.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Experience in sprint & release planning, running demos and retrospectives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional experience in the financial services industry.
• Bachelor's in computer science, management information systems, or related disciplines.
• 4-6 years of experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
• Experience on multiple Scrum teams in various contexts.
• Track record of continued education in Scrum and Agile practices.
• Knowledge of other Agile approaches like XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD.
• Experience with Agile techniques like ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, etc.
• Knowledge of technologies used by the team.
