About the position

The Scrum Master III at Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is responsible for guiding and coaching teams in Agile methodologies, ensuring effective implementation of Scrum practices. This role involves facilitating Agile ceremonies, managing project budgets, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team. The Scrum Master will work closely with the Product Owner and Development Team to ensure successful sprint execution and delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach teams and the organization on Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Support the Product Owner and Development Team, leading by example.
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies to maximize their value.
  • Encourage self-organization within delivery teams to achieve objectives.
  • Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage and report on project budgets, ensuring teams deliver within allocated funding.
  • Proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Work with teams to ensure stories are 'sprint ready' and remove impediments.
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Review and improve current Agile processes, demonstrating servant-leadership.
  • Foster an empowering environment focused on accountability and collaboration.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency.

Requirements

  • CSM or equivalent certification.
  • Clear understanding of Agile methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate scrum teams.
  • Knowledge of facilitation techniques and servant leadership.
  • Experience with Agile PLM tools like JIRA.
  • Understanding of backlog tracking and Scrum/Kanban metrics.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in sprint & release planning, running demos and retrospectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional experience in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related disciplines.
  • 4-6 years of experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Experience on multiple Scrum teams in diverse contexts.
  • Track record of continued education in Scrum and Agile practices.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches like XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD.
  • Experience with Agile techniques like ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, etc.
  • Knowledge of technologies used by the team.
