About the position

The Agile Coach will guide and coach teams and the organization on Agile/Scrum practices, ensuring effective implementation of Agile values and principles. This role involves supporting the Product Owner and Development Team, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and fostering a trusting environment for problem resolution. The Agile Coach will also manage budgets, proactively address risks, and contribute to continuous improvement within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach teams on Agile/Scrum practices and values.
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies efficiently to maximize their value.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment for team discussions and conflict resolution.
  • Work with management and team members to clarify needs and plan product deliveries.
  • Manage and report on budget, ensuring teams deliver within allocated funding.
  • Proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Facilitate effective sprints by removing impediments and ensuring stories are 'sprint ready'.
  • Review current Agile processes and guide the team towards improvement and innovation.
  • Foster an empowering environment focused on accountability and collaboration.
  • Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency.

Requirements

  • CSM or equivalent certification.
  • Clear understanding of Agile methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate scrum teams.
  • Knowledge of facilitation techniques and servant leadership.
  • Experience with Agile PLM tools like JIRA.
  • Understanding of backlog tracking and Scrum/Kanban metrics.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in sprint & release planning, running demos and retrospectives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional experience in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor's in computer science, management information systems, or related disciplines.
  • 4-6 years of experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Experience on multiple Scrum teams in diverse contexts.
  • Track record of continued education in Scrum, including training and conferences.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches like XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD.
  • Experience with Agile techniques like ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing.
