About the position

The position involves guiding and coaching teams and the organization in Agile/Scrum practices, ensuring effective delivery of projects on time and within budget. The role requires facilitating Agile ceremonies, fostering a trusting environment, and collaborating with management and team members to clarify needs and plan product changes. The Scrum Master will also manage risks and dependencies while promoting continuous improvement and transparency within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach teams and the organization on Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Support the Product Owner and Development Team, leading by example.
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies efficiently to maximize their value.
  • Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment for problem resolution.
  • Work with management and team members to clarify needs and plan product delivery.
  • Manage and report on budget, ensuring teams deliver within allocated funding.
  • Proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
  • Facilitate effective sprints by removing impediments and ensuring stories are 'sprint ready'.
  • Review current Agile processes and guide the team to improve while fostering innovation.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency.

Requirements

  • CSM or equivalent certification.
  • Clear understanding of Agile methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate scrum teams.
  • Knowledge of facilitation techniques, servant leadership, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience with Agile PLM tools like JIRA.
  • Understanding of backlog tracking and Scrum/Kanban metrics.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in sprint & release planning, running demos and retrospectives.
  • Sound judgment and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional experience in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor's in computer science, management information systems, or related disciplines.
  • 4-6 years of experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Experience on multiple Scrum teams in diverse contexts.
  • Track record of continued education in Scrum, including training and conferences.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches like XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD.
  • Experience with Agile techniques like ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing.
