About the position

One of our premier clients is looking for a Scrum Master in Richmond, VA (HYBRID) for a contract position. The Scrum Master will be responsible for driving consistent project delivery through the entire project lifecycle, which includes project plans, release plans, resource allocation, and management of project risks, scope, schedule, and delivery of value. The role requires coordination of Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, Sprint Demos, Story Refinement, and Release Planning. The Scrum Master will track and communicate the project's progress from a schedule, cost, and risk perspective to the project team, stakeholders, and management. In this position, the Scrum Master will establish an environment where the teams can be effective and will help remove obstacles that may hinder progress. Protecting the team from outside interruptions and distractions is crucial, as is ensuring a good relationship between the team and the product owner, as well as others outside the team. The Scrum Master will track and report team velocity and other project metrics, promote continuous improvement, and help teams increase productivity. Additionally, the Scrum Master will assist the Product Owner and team with Product backlog management, analyze data to provide insights for decision-making, and provide training and support for end-users to ensure effective platform usage. The role also requires demonstrable capability and experience in planning, implementing, and maintaining local master data systems and processes across business units and functions. Understanding data and leveraging it to deliver business value is essential, as is the ability to discuss requirements with data teams. Experience in data governance concepts and implementations, as well as the ability to use agile approaches to drive master data governance processes, is also required. The Scrum Master will manage project milestones and deliverables to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manages project milestones and deliverables for on-time and on-budget delivery.

Requirements

• Experience managing cloud-based solutions for data management and analytics (8 years required).
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and software systems, including Azure and Google Cloud (8 years required).
• Experience with data processing and storage tools (e.g., Spark, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Event Hub, Azure SQL, Synapse).
• Knowledge of transportation data and project management with transportation data is a plus.
• Experience in IT Infrastructure delivery (networking, physical plant, vendor management, site provisioning) is preferred.
• Technical Business Analyst understanding of data integration and data project.
• Experience in the roll-out and adoption of governance tools such as Alation, Collibra, Informatica, or Microsoft Purview.
• Experience in both Agile and Waterfall project management.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of transportation data and project management with transportation data is a plus.
