About the position

The Scrum Master, Lead Associate at Peraton plays a crucial role in supporting a team of developers focused on building advanced customer engagement systems for federal service agencies. This position emphasizes servant leadership, guiding teams in Agile practices, and ensuring effective collaboration and communication among team members and stakeholders. The Scrum Master will facilitate various team meetings and help the team achieve their goals while adhering to SAFe methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Act as a servant leader to the Scrum Team by embracing SAFe Core Values and applying SAFe Principles.
• Help the scrum team achieve quality, predictability, flow, and velocity, focusing on daily and Sprint Goals.
• Facilitate all team meetings, including daily stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Team Demos, and Retrospectives.
• Attend and represent the team in Scrum of Scrums meetings.
• Collaborate with other impacted teams to ensure alignment between priorities and deployment-related activities.
• Assist the team in preparation for ART activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a scrum master with a BS/BA; 3 years with a MS/MA; 1 year with a PhD.
• 5+ years of experience utilizing SAFe methodologies or similar Agile servant leadership role.
• 2+ years of experience facilitating communication/collaboration with clients and development teams in both in-person and virtual settings.
• U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• SAFe Certified Scrum Master.
• Prior experience in software development, preferably in a Java/open-source technical environment.
