About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Scrum Master to join our team in Richmond, VA. This position is 100% onsite and requires local candidates only. The ideal candidate will have practical experience serving as a Scrum Master and a solid understanding of Agile values, principles, and methodologies. You will be responsible for coordinating Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, Sprint Demos, Story Refinement, and Release Planning. Your role will involve tracking the progress of team performance using appropriate metrics and fostering the adoption of a high-performing Agile culture while working closely with leadership. In this role, you will provide collaboration, facilitation, leadership, and coaching to support the Scrum Team and the Scrum process. You will also be expected to analyze and document business and system processes effectively. A Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is required for this position, while a Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification is preferred. This is a long-term opportunity with a duration of 9+ months, and we are looking for candidates who are committed to driving Agile practices within our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Scrum Master for the team, facilitating Agile ceremonies and ensuring adherence to Agile principles.
  • Coordinate and lead Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives, Sprint Demos, Story Refinement, and Release Planning.
  • Track team performance using appropriate metrics and foster a high-performing Agile culture.
  • Provide collaboration, facilitation, leadership, and coaching to support the Scrum Team and the Scrum process.
  • Analyze and document business and system processes to improve team efficiency.

Requirements

  • Practical experience serving as a Scrum Master with a solid comprehension of Agile values, principles, and methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of the Agile software development life cycle and hands-on experience working with development teams.
  • Ability to coordinate Agile ceremonies effectively and track team performance using metrics.
  • Strong facilitation, collaboration, and coaching skills to support the Scrum Team.
  • CSM Certification is required; PSM Certification is preferred.
