GovCIO is seeking a motivated Scrum Master with over 10 years of experience to facilitate scrum ceremonies, coach, and mentor team members, assist Product Owners in managing their backlog, and support Sprint Planning and release planning. This position is fully remote within the United States, allowing for flexibility while contributing to a dynamic team focused on transforming government IT. The Scrum Master will play a crucial role in driving effective scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. They will also track and distribute relevant metrics to report on team progress and velocity, ensuring transparency and accountability within the team. In this role, the Scrum Master will identify, understand, and track impediments, helping to remove them and drive improvements to optimize team performance. They will act as a liaison between the team and external stakeholders, minimizing interruptions to the sprint and keeping the team focused on delivering quality products on time. The Scrum Master will represent the team in various meetings, including Scrum of Scrum, cross-team planning, and risk mitigation meetings, and will help prepare the team for PI Planning, guiding them to complete all tasks effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a growth mindset, coaching the team and Product Owner on how to improve their practices to excel at scale. They will facilitate communication and collaboration between Scrum teams, product owners, and other stakeholders, including cybersecurity and operations, ensuring that all parties are aligned and working towards common goals.
