About the position

The Scrum Master plays a crucial role in leading a cross-functional team by guiding them in Agile, Scrum, and Lean methodologies through servant leadership. This position focuses on fostering a culture of continuous learning and agile maturity, while also ensuring the team meets its goals and improves its performance metrics. The Scrum Master facilitates team meetings, removes impediments, and supports the Product Owner in managing the backlog, all while promoting effective communication and collaboration within the team and with other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the team's progress toward team goals.
  • Acts as the team facilitator and engages in improving team performance metrics.
  • Helps the team focus on daily and Iteration goals in the context of the current Program Increment (PI) or Release Objectives.
  • Leads team efforts in relentless improvement and facilitates team retrospectives.
  • Teaches problem-solving techniques to enhance the team's capabilities.
  • Facilitates team meetings such as Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective.
  • Ensures adherence to the Definition of Done (DoD) and other team agreements.
  • Facilitates discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution within the team.
  • Eliminates impediments by engaging the right stakeholders.
  • Supports internal and external communication to improve transparency.
  • Coordinates work with other teams to enhance flow and throughput.
  • Represents the team in Scrum of Scrums (SoS) and other ceremonies.
  • Helps the team build effective relationships with supporting teams.
  • Supports the Product Owner in managing the backlog and guiding the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (4 additional years in lieu of a degree).
  • 5 years of experience in Agile/Scrum/Lean/SAFe practices and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean Agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master or Kanban practitioner.
  • Knowledge of Scaling frameworks like Scaled Agile Framework.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience being part of a SAFe Agile Release Train.
  • Knowledge of Product Ownership, DevOps, and Test Automation practices.
  • SAFe Scrum Master Certification upon hire.
  • Certified Scrum Master (Scrum Alliance) upon hire.
