About the position

Cisco is seeking a Scrum Master to join the Security & Collaboration SFDC team in San Jose, California. This role is pivotal in leading scrum teams and facilitating scrum processes while embodying Agile methodologies. As a Scrum Master, you will be an active member of the software development team, contributing to the definition, implementation, testing, and customer delivery of innovative solutions on the Salesforce.com platform. You will play a key role in leading timelines and ensuring that the team adheres to Agile/Scrum methodologies, including PI planning, release planning, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospective meetings, stage gate management, and risk management. Additionally, you will serve as a scrum of scrums, helping the team resolve their velocity and assisting the DevOps team with release planning. In this position, you will handle tickets and projects in Jira, collaborating closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Technical Project Managers to ensure that the product backlog is well-maintained and ready for upcoming sprints. Your leadership will be crucial in increasing team efficiency and transforming the sprint retrospective meetings into an evolutionary experience. As the process owner for the team, you will balance the needs of key customers, including Technical Project Managers, Business Analysts/Product Owners, and Technical Leads, ensuring that the scrum team embodies the values and practices of scrum and SAFe Agile methodologies. This role requires a proactive approach to coaching and mentoring multi-functional teams within the organization, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead scrum teams and facilitate scrum processes as an Agile role model.
  • Coach and mentor multi-functional teams within the organization.
  • Play a key role in leading timelines and work according to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Conduct PI planning, release planning, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospective meetings, and stage gate management.
  • Manage risk and serve as a scrum of scrums to help the team resolve their velocity.
  • Handle tickets and projects in Jira effectively.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Technical Project Managers to ensure the product backlog is in good shape.
  • Increase team efficiency and enhance the sprint retrospective meeting experience.
  • Serve as process owner for the team, balancing the needs of key customers.
  • Ensure the scrum team adheres to the values and practices of scrum and SAFe Agile methodologies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience leading Software development/test projects as Scrum Master or Technical Project/Program Manager.
  • 5+ years experience delivering Salesforce.com or GTM projects.
  • 3+ years experience in Jira administration & management.
  • 3+ years experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Project Management-Professional (PMP).

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of security incident types, indicators of compromise (IOCs), and tools, tactics, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Knowledge of the full SDLC, including methodologies and experience in business process analysis.
  • Experience with test planning and methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Independent worker with sound time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and challenge the status quo.
