About the position

The Agile Scrum Master/System Analyst role at Fidelity's Workplace Consulting Digital Solution Technology team focuses on designing, developing, and supporting custom client digital applications. The position emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, aiming to deliver high business value outcomes while adhering to Agile principles and practices. The Scrum Master will coach the team, manage backlogs, and facilitate communication across various functions to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Agile Scrum team in adhering to Scrum theory, practices, and rules.
  • Coach the squad and organization in Agile adoption.
  • Work with the Squad Leader to ensure all work is tracked in the backlog and effectively balanced across team members.
  • Collaborate closely with the Squad Leader to plan and execute high-priority work according to the quarterly roadmap.
  • Guide the squad on using Agile practices to delight internal and external customers.
  • Break down product features into clear and concise stories with defined business value and acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain a strong focus on execution and delivery, identifying and removing blockers.
  • Encourage Agile behaviors and support the overall program team's performance and efficiency.
  • Work across technology, business, and operational functions at an enterprise level.
  • Adapt to changes in direction and priority in an Agile environment.
  • Facilitate frequent cross-team events to ensure synchronization among teams.
  • Manage and track key dependencies and technical impediments impacting the program.
  • Develop artifacts that articulate business and technical needs for effective solution delivery.

Requirements

  • Scrum Master certification to play the Agile Scrum Master role for a development team.
  • Experience with enterprise tools such as Confluence, FlowMetrics, Jira, and Miro.
  • Eager to learn about technical agility including DevOps, CI/CD, and deployment strategies.
  • Ability to identify and assess technology solutions and their dependencies.
  • Knowledge of Agile techniques, tools, and approaches such as User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing.
  • Strong proficiency in agile practices, processes, and artifacts in a software development environment.
  • Experience in interpreting agile metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience in using JIRA and Confluence, with a deep understanding of JIRA Scrum Boards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Scrum Master certification (CSM/PSM) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cloud concepts, Middle Tiers (API), and Web applications built on Angular.
  • Financial services experience preferred.
