About the position

The Agile Scrum Master/System Analyst role at Fidelity's Workplace Consulting Digital Solution Technology team focuses on designing, developing, implementing, and supporting custom client digital applications. The position emphasizes delivering innovative solutions that meet customer needs while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. The Scrum Master will guide the Agile team in adhering to Scrum practices, facilitate communication, and ensure effective execution of the team's objectives, all while enhancing their own technical skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Agile Scrum team in adhering to Scrum theory, practices, and rules.
  • Coach the squad and organization in its Agile adoption.
  • Work with the Squad Leader to ensure all work is tracked in the backlog and effectively balanced across team members.
  • Collaborate closely with the Squad Leader to plan and execute the highest priority work as per the quarterly roadmap.
  • Guide the squad on how to use Agile practices to delight both internal and external customers.
  • Break down product features into clear and concise user stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain a strong focus on execution and help identify and remove blockers the team faces.
  • Encourage Agile behaviors and support the overall program team's performance and efficiency.
  • Work across technology, business, and operational functions at an enterprise level.
  • Facilitate frequent cross-team events to ensure teams are in sync.
  • Help manage and track key dependencies and technical impediments impacting the program.
  • Develop artifacts that articulate both business and technical needs to support efficient solution delivery.

Requirements

  • Scrum Master certification to play the Agile Scrum Master role for a development team.
  • Experience working with Enterprise tools such as Confluence, FlowMetrics, Jira, and Miro.
  • Eager to learn about technical agility - DevOps, CI/CD, branching and merging strategies, deployment strategy.
  • Ability to identify and assess technology solutions, noting both technical and operational dependencies.
  • Knowledge of numerous well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in gaps in the Agile approach.
  • Experience with widely successful Agile techniques, tools & approaches: User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
  • Strong proficiency and experience with agile practices, processes, and artifacts in a software development environment.
  • Experience in interpreting agile metrics to identify and drive improvement opportunities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Cloud concepts, Middle Tiers (API), and Web applications built on Angular.
  • Financial services experience preferred.
