About the position

National Fuel is seeking a SCRUM Master for an outstanding career opportunity in our Information Technology department at our Williamsville, NY headquarters. The SCRUM Master will support and guide multiple Scrum teams, ensuring adherence to the Scrum framework and agile practices while mentoring junior Scrum Masters. This role is crucial for facilitating meetings, decision-making processes, and eliminating team impediments to enhance productivity and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Support and guide multiple Scrum teams.
  • Ensure development teams follow scrum framework values and agile practices.
  • Mentor and motivate teams to improve processes.
  • Facilitate meetings and decision-making processes.
  • Eliminate team impediments.
  • Guide the team in organizing and facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, and release planning.
  • Ensure all scrum events are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox.
  • Discuss and decompose user stories to a consumable level for the development team.
  • Facilitate collaboration for both onsite and offshore teams, resolve conflict, and reduce external dependencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Business Management or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 Years proven Scrum Master Experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the best practices associated with Scrum and Kanban.
  • Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to work creatively, with an analytical mindset in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of Agile adoption.
  • Passion for evolving and sustaining Agile best practices and quality solution delivery.

Nice-to-haves

  • JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow and MS Office application experience preferred.
  • Credible understanding of current technologies and domains (web, portal, low code, information security, automation, etc.).
  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of Change Management.
