About the position
The Scrum Master will play a crucial role in facilitating Agile practices within a hybrid work environment. This position involves guiding teams through Scrum methodologies, ensuring effective collaboration, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Scrum Master will work closely with Product Owners and other stakeholders to manage the product backlog and assist in the coordination of releases, while also monitoring team performance and providing coaching on Agile best practices.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily Scrum meetings, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Work closely with Product Owners to ensure the product backlog is well-groomed and ready for the next sprint.
- Guide the team in self-organization, cross-functionality, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team's progress.
- Ensure the team adheres to Scrum principles and practices, and help them adapt to changes.
- Monitor and report on team performance, including velocity, burn-down charts, and other key metrics.
- Foster a culture of transparency, communication, and collaboration within the team and across the organization.
- Work with other Scrum Masters to ensure consistency in practices and to share insights and improvements.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members and stakeholders on agile best practices.
- Assist in the coordination of releases, ensuring that dependencies are managed and risks are mitigated.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar agile certification.
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in an agile environment.
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and other agile methodologies.
- Experience working with cloud observability.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor team members and stakeholders.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a software development environment.
- Knowledge of scaling frameworks like SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and how they integrate with agile methodologies.
