About the position

Cotiviti is seeking a skilled individual to fill a blended role of Scrum Master and Technical Product Owner (TPO). In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of activities related to the SAFe Agile process across multiple teams. Your primary duties will include scheduling and facilitating daily stand-up meetings, iteration (sprint) planning, and team retrospectives. You will also drive solution definitions that align with business ideas and product concepts at the team level by gathering and translating testable requirements into application software solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of the domain and strong collaboration skills, as you will work closely with a diverse team that includes internal and external software developers, testers, clients, and cross-functional teams such as Implementation Services, Client Services, and Operations. To succeed in this role, you will need to understand Cotiviti's business, products, goals, and priorities to effectively deliver on technology needs. You will facilitate interviews and requirement workshops with a cross-disciplined team to elicit business needs and refine and groom requirements, including Features and User Stories. You will also negotiate prioritization and conflict resolution among various client projects, support the team Delivery Manager in maintaining the client delivery roadmap, and ensure that the team backlog is refined and prioritized daily. Additionally, you will facilitate timely impediment resolution, drive process improvements, and ensure adherence to the definition of done at all levels. Acceptance of user stories completed at the end of each iteration/sprint is also part of your responsibilities, along with completing all duties outlined in your annual Performance Plan. This role requires the ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Cotiviti's business and obtain knowledge of the business products, goals, and priorities to deliver on the technology needs.
  • Schedule and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings before each iteration (sprint) begins.
  • Facilitate interviews and requirement workshops with a cross-disciplined team to elicit an understanding of business needs and definition, refinement and grooming of requirements (Features and User Stories).
  • Negotiate prioritization and conflict resolution between various client projects.
  • Support the team Delivery Manager in maintaining the client delivery roadmap based on the health and priority of the stories of the backlog.
  • Refine and prioritize the team backlog daily and ensure it accurately reflects the current state, including burndown chart and status, at the client release and iteration (sprint) levels.
  • Facilitate impediment resolution in a timely, cost effective manner; stay attuned to team needs and remove impediments before they form.
  • Drive process improvement and keep team accountable to improvements.
  • Ensure that the definition of done is established and adhered to at all levels.
  • Acceptance of user stories completed at the end of each iteration/sprint.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Business, Project Management, or similar degree or equivalent.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or immediate plans to become certified.
  • 3+ years of experience leading Agile Scrum teams or Project Management at the enterprise level.
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Demonstrated understanding and support of Agile delivery model, with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Proactive with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong drive to deliver tangible value even when faced with ambiguity.
  • Strong belief in continuous improvement and team empowerment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and follow up communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Proficient knowledge of at least one application lifecycle management tool; JIRA /JIRA Align preferred.
  • Proficient with Jira and the Microsoft Office Suite.
