About the position

As a Scrum Master at Accruent, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and facilitating Agile practices across multiple teams. You will serve as a Scrum Master for 2 to 4 teams within the Agile Release Train (ART), working closely with the Release Train Engineer (RTE) to achieve program objectives. Your responsibilities will include assisting in overall program and project planning, ensuring that cross-team dependencies are well understood and effectively modeled in project plans and timelines. You will be tasked with identifying, documenting, and publishing risks and issues related to the program, as well as defining resolution paths when necessary. In this role, you will be responsible for resolving cross-team impediments and blocking issues, scheduling and conducting Agile ceremonies, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Your focus will be on building team commitment towards achieving ART and sprint objectives, prioritizing team needs above all else. You will continuously work to improve team performance and productivity by encouraging ownership, accountability, self-organization, and empowerment among team members. You will also facilitate SAFe retrospectives to generate new ideas for relentless improvement and maintain relevant metrics that guide the development team towards more efficient processes. Effective communication will be key, as you will develop and maintain clear lines of communication between the development team, Product Owner, and stakeholders. Additionally, you will actively participate in local scrum chapters to share knowledge and learn new Scaled Agile concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Scrum Master for 2 to 4 teams across the program.
  • Aid the RTE in achieving the objectives of the Agile Release Train (ART).
  • Assist in overall program/project planning and ensure cross-team dependencies are well understood.
  • Identify, document, and publish risks and issues related to the overall program.
  • Resolve cross-team impediments and blocking issues.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings and ceremonies in accordance with Agile best practices.
  • Build team collaboration and commitment towards achieving ART and sprint objectives.
  • Continuously work to improve team performance and productivity.
  • Encourage team ownership, accountability, self-organization, and empowerment.
  • Facilitate SAFe Retrospectives for relentless improvement.
  • Maintain relevant metrics to guide the development team to more efficient processes.

Requirements

  • A Scrum Master Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent/Advanced English and Portuguese.
  • Experience with software development and/or in a Scrum Master role.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering software products.
  • Experience in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) is required, with a thorough understanding of PI Planning.
  • High level of personal accountability, commitment, resilience, ownership, and a mindset toward relentless learning.
  • Subject matter expert of Scrum/Kanban, willing to learn beyond current knowledge.
  • Effective communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to facilitate, understand, and contribute to technical discussions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with diverse personality types and global cultures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field.
  • Active Certified SAFe® Scrum Master (CSM).
  • Has participated in 3 or more PI Planning Sessions.
  • Extensive knowledge of other Agile development approaches such as TDD, BDD, etc.
  • Experience with Jira project management tools and implementation of best practices in Agile tools and workflows.
