About the position

The Scrum Master is a key Agile professional responsible for leading initiatives within Solution Delivery Services, focusing on application development projects. This role involves overseeing Agile ceremonies, coaching Product Owners, managing team velocity, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software. The Scrum Master will guide the business community on Agile best practices and work closely with one or more Agile teams, particularly in the context of the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Support the Department or Project Manager in defining a project-based approach to delivering tangible outcomes.
• Assess stakeholder requirements around project objectives to determine features and provide support during project initiation and planning.
• Execute project work using an iterative process, managing the creation and prioritization of stories, and preparing for Sprints.
• Support and encourage healthy communication across all levels by tracking and communicating project progress using JIRA and reports.
• Proactively recognize and resolve conflicts between roles and team members through collaboration.
• Ensure high-quality outcomes by coordinating release activities related to testing and user acceptance.
• Support the training and adoption of project management tools like JIRA, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Office.
• Track and report project execution metrics such as velocity, burndown, and blockers.
• Effectively facilitate meetings to drive resolution of work, issues, risks, and decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or non-technical area.
• 6-10 years of experience performing Agile Scrum in IT initiatives, preferably within a Property & Casualty Insurance carrier.

Nice-to-haves

• Project Management certification related to Agile and/or PMI preferred.
• Master's Degree or Certificate in Business preferred.
