About the position

As a Scrum Master at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a development team that is focused on modernizing and enhancing critical public health information technology projects. Your passion for outcomes and your expertise in Agile best practices will be essential in overcoming challenges and ensuring that work is completed efficiently. In this position, you will be responsible for coaching the development team to concentrate on sprint goals, thereby facilitating the successful progression of projects. You will utilize your knowledge of Scrum principles to address routine problems and leverage Agile tools to implement sustainable process improvements that align with Program Increment Objectives and Features. Your contributions will directly impact the public health sector by collaborating with clients to deliver meaningful solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to expand your experience in IT project management and Agile methodologies while working on diverse project solutions that support the delivery of essential services in public health.

Responsibilities

  • Coach the development team to focus on sprint goals and ensure successful project progression.
  • Apply Scrum principles to resolve routine problems and facilitate Agile practices.
  • Utilize Agile tools to strengthen sustainable process improvements.
  • Collaborate with clients to deliver impactful public health technology solutions.
  • Facilitate daily stand-up calls, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, and requirements sessions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master serving Agile teams.
  • Experience with Agile software project management tools, including JIRA.
  • Knowledge of project management frameworks and software development processes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certified SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist Certification, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years of experience with supporting public health projects.
