About the position

The Scrum Master position is a critical role within our organization, located in Richmond, VA. This is an on-site position that requires a local candidate. The Scrum Master will be responsible for facilitating agile project management practices and ensuring that the team adheres to the principles of Scrum. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, with proven experience in both agile and waterfall methodologies. The Scrum Master will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. In this role, the Scrum Master will lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring that the team is aligned and focused on their goals. The Scrum Master will also be responsible for removing any impediments that may hinder the team's progress and will act as a liaison between the team and stakeholders. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential for this position, as the Scrum Master will need to foster a collaborative environment and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, the Scrum Master will be involved in the RFP process and will utilize tools such as Planview Enterprise 1 or similar Portfolio and Project Management tools, as well as Azure DevOps or other Agile Project Management tools. The candidate must hold a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification, with a Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification preferred. A Certified Project Manager by PMI or VITA PM certification is also required. Experience in Laboratory Information Management Systems is highly desired, along with experience working as a Project Manager in a Commonwealth of Virginia Executive Branch Agency.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as an IT Project Manager.
  • Significant experience in agile project management methodologies and waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience in RFP process is required.
  • Experience in Planview Enterprise 1 or similar Portfolio and Project Management tools is required.
  • Experience in Azure DevOps or any Agile Project Management tools is required.
  • Certified Project Manager by PMI or VITA PM certification is required.
  • Experience in Laboratory Information Management System is highly desired.
  • Experience working as a Project Manager in a Commonwealth of Virginia Executive Branch Agency(ies).
