About the position

As a Lead Scrum Master in the client's Chief Data Office, you will join a team of change agents responsible for coaching, teaching, and guiding individuals in the application of agile principles, practices, and frameworks. Your role will be pivotal in solving sophisticated business problems and deploying innovative products, services, and experiences that delight our customers. You will collaborate closely with product owners, tech leads, designers, data engineers, and delivery professionals to enhance our Enterprise Data Platform. Your strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and teamwork orientation will be essential as you navigate complex challenges and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. On a typical day, you will work collaboratively with product owners to understand their needs and define feature stories, while also engaging with tech leads to establish technical designs. You will ensure that the team comprehensively understands the system from end to end, delivering robust solutions that have a significant business impact. Your role will also involve providing insights into relevant and emerging technologies, coaching team members, and embedding a culture of learning and innovation into daily operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that the team adheres to Agile values and principles, following the agreed-upon processes and practices to deliver committed solutions. As a true servant leader, you will support the team and the larger organization by helping others understand effective interactions with the team and facilitating improvements in these interactions to enhance the value generated by the Agile team. Additionally, you will support all aspects of risk management and impediment resolution, operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product owners to understand needs and define feature stories.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer, or comparable Agile delivery leadership role.
  • Ability to coach others with minimal guidance and leverage diverse ideas and perspectives.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes for sound decision-making.
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Advanced experience with Safe/Agile principles and frameworks.
  • Experience performing the role of Scrum Master on complex teams.
  • Expertise in facilitation and tracking of Objectives & Key Results (OKRs).
  • Proven capabilities in delivery, reporting, metrics, and Agile toolchains (Jira, Jira Align, Miro, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Scrum Master certification.
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master within the financial services industry.
