About the position

The Scrum Master at DMI will play a pivotal role in guiding development teams through the Scrum framework, ensuring adherence to Agile best practices while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. This position involves facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring alignment with project goals as the team works on Python-based front-end and back-end development, as well as data parsing for a next-generation SaaS platform.

Responsibilities

• Guide the Python Front-End, Back-End, and Data Parsing teams through the Scrum framework, ensuring best practices are followed.
• Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring that teams stay focused on goals and timelines.
• Identify and help remove any obstacles or roadblocks that hinder team progress, ensuring smooth collaboration between developers and stakeholders.
• Foster effective communication between product owners, developers, and external stakeholders to ensure clarity around goals, scope, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with product owners to keep the backlog well-defined, groomed, and prioritized based on team capacity and project deadlines.
• Track the progress of the team against sprint commitments using Agile tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps, identifying any risks or deviations and working with the team to address them.
• Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives, gathering team feedback, and implementing improvements to processes and workflows.
• Ensure the Python front-end, back-end, and data parsing projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on team progress, impediments, and key metrics related to velocity, burndown charts, and overall team health.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach supporting cross-functional development teams, including front-end, back-end, and data-focused roles.
• Some technical understanding or experience with Python development, data engineering, or SaaS platforms is preferred.
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or other Agile certifications are highly desirable.
• Prior experience working in Agile teams developing SaaS applications.

Nice-to-haves
