About the position

The Scrum Master plays a crucial role in facilitating and guiding Agile practices within the development team. This position is responsible for organizing and facilitating various Scrum-related meetings, including project planning sessions, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, and demos. The Scrum Master ensures that these meetings are productive and focused, helping the team to stay aligned with Agile principles and practices. In addition to facilitating meetings, the Scrum Master provides guidance to the team in adopting Agile methodologies, emphasizing the importance of iterative development, self-organization, and continuous improvement. This role involves updating agile tracking systems to maintain transparency regarding the Product and Sprint Backlogs, ensuring that all team members and stakeholders have access to the latest information. The Scrum Master also assists the team in making appropriate commitments by facilitating discussions around story selection and task definition. This includes ensuring that there is clarity, feasibility, and consensus among team members regarding the work to be done. Effective communication with stakeholders, including product owners, customers, and management, is essential to provide visibility into the team's progress, address any concerns, and manage expectations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.
  • Provide guidance in adopting Agile practices such as iterative development, self-organization, and continuous improvement.
  • Update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on Product and Sprint Backlogs.
  • Assist the team with making appropriate commitments by facilitating discussions on story selection and task definition, ensuring clarity, feasibility, and consensus.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including product owners, customers, and management, to provide visibility into the team's progress, address concerns, and manage expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology (B-Tech) or equivalent experience.
  • 9-11 years of experience in a Scrum Master role or similar position.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
  • Experience with agile tracking systems and tools.
