About the position

Immediate need for a talented Scrum Master. This is a 12+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in San Francisco, CA (Hybrid). The Scrum Master will play a crucial role in the ELZ migration and Decommission project, which involves migrating the enterprise data lake to the cloud and decommissioning the on-premises solution. The successful candidate will be responsible for running various sub-projects within the program, leading discussions, and resolving issues that arise during the project lifecycle. The Scrum Master will be expected to report on the status and progress of the projects, including any blockers and risks that may impact the timeline or deliverables. They will facilitate scrum meetings with the team to address these blockers and escalate any unresolved issues, ensuring a clear path to resolution. Additionally, the Scrum Master will define the roadmap for the assigned projects and collect data-driven metrics to measure the success of the initiatives. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to drive and influence decisions effectively. Responsibilities

  • Help with the ELZ migration and Decommission project.
  • Run various sub-projects in the program, lead conversations, and resolve issues.
  • Report the status and progress along with blockers and risks for the projects they are responsible for.
  • Run scrum meetings with the team to address blockers.
  • Escalate unresolved issues and follow up on the path to resolution.
  • Define the roadmap for the projects assigned.
  • Collect data-driven metrics that define the success of the project.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience with Azure Data Lake.
  • 5 to 10 years of database experience.
  • 5 years of understanding batch processing.
  • 3 to 5 years of Azure cloud experience.
  • Experience in data lake migration.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive and influence decisions.
