About the position

As a Scrum Master, you will facilitate a Scrum team, ensuring the Scrum process is followed and that impediments are removed to achieve sprint goals. Your role involves protecting the development team, fostering collaboration, and keeping the team focused on their tasks. You will also support the Product Owner in maintaining the Product Backlog and ensuring the proper adoption of Scrum practices.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for meeting Sprint objectives along with the Scrum team
  • Ensure meeting of sprint commitment
  • Own and help resolve impediments of the team
  • Help Product Owner adopt Scrum Process properly and ensure their availability
  • Support the Product Owner in maintaining the Product Backlog, defining User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
  • Facilitate estimation, backlog refinement, and all planning ceremonies
  • Ensure Definition of Ready (DOR), Definition of Done (DOD), and Acceptance criteria are available and adhered to
  • Ensure MoSCoW adherence of Sprint Backlog at the Sprint level
  • Accountable for the correct implementation of the Agile Process
  • Protect the team from external interference
  • Facilitate technical assistance to the team and enable clear communication among team members
  • Participate in Scrum of Scrums across teams and highlight impediments
  • Provide feedback on team members' performance to the Agile Line Manager and Agile Program Leader
  • Facilitate all Scrum Ceremonies (Planning, Daily Standup, Grooming, Demo, Retrospective) and ensure correct adoption
  • Ensure updating of all Scrum artifacts
  • Ensure ALM tool is updated on a daily basis
  • Update key Scrum metrics on a Sprint-by-Sprint basis
  • Analyze key Scrum metrics and take corrective actions
  • Create competency improvement and cross-skilling plan for the team and review monthly
  • Help the team attain stable velocity within 6-8 sprints
  • Train the team on the proper adoption of Agile processes (Scrum / XP / Kanban)
  • Help in the adoption of engineering practices like ATDD, TDD, CI, CD, Refactoring
  • Record and own the retrospective actions
  • Participate in community of practice initiatives
  • Provide inputs to the Line Manager for internal quality forums (QIC / APR / QBR / MBR etc.)

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello)
  • Knowledge of software development processes and practices

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification as a Scrum Master (CSM, PSM)
  • Experience with scaling frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices
  • Experience in coaching teams on Agile practices
