About the position

The Scrum Master plays a pivotal role in facilitating Agile practices within the organization, specifically focusing on Scrum methodologies. This position is based in Columbia, SC, and is expected to be onsite. The Scrum Master will be responsible for guiding and coaching cross-functional teams in Agile principles and practices, ensuring that the team adheres to Scrum processes and values. The role requires a deep understanding of Agile Software Development practices, including but not limited to Scrum, Kanban, Feature Driven Development, Scaled Scrum, and Extreme Programming. The Scrum Master will work closely with product owners and stakeholders to ensure that the team is delivering high-quality products that meet customer needs and expectations. In this role, the Scrum Master will lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies. They will also be responsible for removing impediments that may hinder the team's progress and fostering an environment of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve their best work. The Scrum Master will also be tasked with tracking team performance metrics and reporting on progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability within the team. This position is for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. The Scrum Master will be expected to collaborate effectively with various teams and departments, promoting a culture of Agile thinking and practices throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies.

Requirements

  • Scrum Master Certification by a recognized authorizing provider.
  • Excellent understanding of Agile Software Development practices such as Scrum, Kanban, Feature Driven Development, Scaled Scrum, and Extreme Programming.
  • Highly effective ability to lead cross-functional Scrum Teams.
