About the position

As a Scrum Master located in Iselin, NJ, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing Agile and Kanban teams, particularly those focused on .NET applications. Your primary responsibility will be to guide these teams in adhering to Agile and Scrum practices, which will enhance their prioritization, readiness, and commitment to sprints. You will be tasked with optimizing team velocity and identifying opportunities for improvement to elevate overall performance. Additionally, you will oversee and address systemic impediments to team agility, providing guidance on effective escalation methods when necessary. Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work closely with key stakeholders to foster a culture of accelerated delivery. You will also drive engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), Pair Programming, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and Automation deployment. A rigorous focus on driving unit testing and functional automation will be essential, particularly as part of the Definition of Done (DoD). Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that the teams are not only productive but also aligned with best practices in Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Agile/Kanban teams, particularly those involving .NET applications.
• Guide teams in following Agile and Scrum practices to enhance prioritization, team readiness, and sprint commitment.
• Optimize team velocity and identify improvement opportunities for higher performance.
• Oversee and address systemic impediments to team agility, providing guidance on escalation methods.
• Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to mature the acceptance of accelerated delivery.
• Drive engineering practices including TDD, BDD, Pair Programming, CI/CD, and Automation deployment.
• Focus rigorously on driving unit testing and functional automation as part of the Definition of Done (DoD).

Requirements

• Certified Scrum Master.
• 5+ years of experience as a practicing Scrum Master.
• Experience working with Compliance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across different levels and stakeholders.
• Strong people skills.
• Demonstrated understanding and practical experience with JIRA (and JIRA Portfolio).
• Reasonable level of technical and business understanding to optimize credibility with teams and managers.

Nice-to-haves

• Conduct Risk experience (preferred but not required).
• Prior experience in Financial Services.
• Experience leading Agile/Kanban teams.
• Experience with Code of Conduct Risk applications.
• Understanding of Agile practices alignment.
• Experience with Scaled Agile (SAFe, Scrum at Scale, LESS).
• Change Management experience (PROSCI, Kotter, etc).
• Good understanding of Lean engineering practices.
