About the position

As part of the ongoing evolution of National IT and our ways of working, Cloud Solutions and Services is seeking a Scrum Master to be a servant leader and coach for teams in the NIT Cloud and Hosting Services Solution. In this role, you will be responsible for aligning the flow of value through your teams, the Agile Release Train (ART), and the overall Solution to deliver exceptional capabilities and solutions. You will collaborate closely with the Release Train Engineer, Solution Train Engineer, Product Management, and Organizational Leadership to determine both strategic direction and tactical implementation for your teams. This position is integral to the transformation of our organization towards the SAFe/Agile Framework and alignment with the Value Stream. The Scrum Master will possess a comprehensive view of the development and delivery process of the team while focusing on its integration with the ART and the Operational Value Stream, which includes all aligned teams and developmental value streams. You will act as the 'connective tissue' that establishes critical connectivity between product leadership and actual implementation. Your role will involve helping team members and stakeholders understand their impact on the broader picture of value development, establishing the right balance between centralized and decentralized decision-making. Additionally, you will train and coach your teams in Agile practices, ensuring synchronization on operationalizing the team as part of the ART and Solution.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate successful delivery of business value within an agile framework
  • Plan, lead, organize, and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Facilitate and help coordinate Agile ceremonies (PI Planning, iteration planning, daily stand-ups, iteration reviews, demos, and retrospectives)
  • Partner with the Product Owner and team to ensure ceremonies and ad hoc meetings are valuable, purposeful, efficient, and well organized
  • Identify barriers to achievement and address their removal with a sense of urgency
  • Use a variety of techniques to foster innovation and collaboration, ensuring all voices are heard
  • Foster consensus-based decision making within the team
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to support short and long-term release planning and keep work backlog healthy and prepared for execution
  • Work with Product Owners to drive development of release and iteration roadmaps
  • Maintain a healthy and safe team working environment
  • Pursue results with the team focused on optimizing delivery
  • Champion the continuous improvement mindset and view failures as opportunities for growth
  • Use quantitative and qualitative evidence-based data to identify, address problems, and evaluate the efficacy of solutions
  • Ask powerful questions to drive a team culture of continuous learning and relentless improvement
  • Act as a change agent to drive the acceptance and adoption of agile using a structured approach
  • Ensure visibility and effective interactions using ceremonies and tools that facilitate speedy responses to impediments
  • Connect the team with the right stakeholders to ensure they have everything needed to plan and work effectively
  • Understand and apply risk management discipline in decision making, responsible for the team's risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years Agile methodology, Scrum Master, or Project Manager experience in a large enterprise environment
  • Working knowledge in Product Management, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery
  • General knowledge of department/business lines, Reserve Banks, and/or System operations, policies, procedures, and technologies
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies, e.g., Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, creativity, attention to detail, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrable mastery in various competencies of Teaching, Mentoring, Transformation, and Facilitation
  • Desired certifications: Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe PO/PM or PMP
