The Scrum Master will be integral in guiding teams to adhere to Agile and Scrum practices, ensuring that they are prepared and committed for each Sprint. This position is not just about managing the Scrum process; it involves optimizing team velocity, identifying improvement opportunities, and overseeing systemic impediments to team agility. The Scrum Master will also consult on complex initiatives that have a broad impact and require large-scale planning for Scrum or Agile methodologies. In this role, the Scrum Master will be expected to review and analyze complex challenges that may arise, requiring a deep understanding of various factors, including compliance and organizational policies. The position demands excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at different levels, ensuring that the teams are aligned with the company's goals and objectives. The Scrum Master will also be responsible for driving engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), which are essential for maintaining high standards of software quality and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices to promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint
  • Optimize scrum team velocity to identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance
  • Oversee systemic impediments to team agility and guide the teams on methods to escalate
  • Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Scrum or Agile
  • Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale, or longer-term Scrum Master challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors
  • Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a practicing Scrum Master
  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Understanding of how to effectively partner/collaborate with key stakeholders to mature the acceptance of accelerated delivery
  • Demonstrated reasonable level of technical and business understanding to optimize credibility with teams and managers
  • Demonstrable experience and expertise driving engineering practices that includes not limited to TDD, BDD, Pair programming, CI/CD, Automation deployment
  • Rigorous focus driving Unit testing and functional automation as part of DOD
  • Demonstrated understanding and practical experience with JIRA (and JIRA Portfolio)
  • Experience leading prior Agile/Kanban Teams
  • Lead scrum or/and Kanban teams that involved Dot net applications
  • Excellent communication and ability to work across different levels and stakeholders

Nice-to-haves

  • Scaled Agile (SAFe, Scrum at Scale, LESS) experience
  • Change Management (PROSCI, Kotter, etc) experience
  • Good understanding of Lean engineering practices
  • Conduct Risk experience
  • Experience working with Compliance
  • Previous Financial Services experience
  • Understanding of the Alignment of Agile practices
  • Code of Conduct Risk Experience, any applications that have been worked related to it is a plus.
